Fairhaven and Fairoaks are both independent senior living communities located in North Denton.  They are both owned by Plano Community of Homes.   The most important item at both communities is to improve the street appearance.  Beyond these things in common the communities are very different. 

Fairhaven is located in a quiet wooded neighborhood.  The rooms are arranged in long hallways in an H shape.  The residents eat in a common dining room.  Each room has a garden view.  After cleaning and planting in the front of the building, we will concentrate on the gardens that are visible from the residents' rooms.  When that is completed we will be working in the “woods” area.  There is a pond, stream, picnic area, and large wooded forest.

Fairoaks is also located in North Denton.  There are eight buildings; seven are divided into separate apartments.  The eighth comprises a community center, laundry facilities and offices for staff members.  Most residents are able to drive and prepare their own meals.  As in Fairhaven we will be working on the appearance near the entrance and in front of the community center.  We have provided planting material for residents who are able to do their own planting, and we are assisting those who are unable to plant their own garden areas.  We will be converting some hard to mow areas into garden areas to assist the maintenance/groundskeeper who works at both communities.  Residents' most frequent request was a vegetable garden.   It is still a work in progress, but we hope to have the requested items growing soon.
