Last month's Round Up of prospective Class of 2006
interns was very successful, with 16 attendees "signing in." We now have
a total of 25 applicants. Sandy Hiatte, First Vice President, and Sue
Chellew, Hospitality Chairman, did a great job in putting together this
event.
But
with a large class expected in January, there will likewise be a need
for mentors for these interns. Our mentor program gives each new intern
an immediate "friend" in the association, as well as someone to answer
questions, give advice, and be a "link" to projects, while completing
their busy class schedule. Having a mentor for each intern is an
important part of helping the class succeed.
If you are interested in being a mentor for 2006, please
email me.

General Meeting- Fall Designs
Join us at the November general meeting, Wednesday, November 9, at 9:00
AM for some "hands on" design help for the holidays. DCMGA member Judy
Cobb will show us how to do some simple holiday designs, from party
favors to table/buffet arrangements. She is also bringing the fall table
design created by DCMGA for the Denton Benefit League's "Sensational
Settings" event.
Judy, in addition to being a DCMGA intern, has belonged to garden clubs
for many years and has won many creative design awards. She also teaches
design technique programs at all levels, from the beginner to the
acclaimed.
