SWAt’s (Science With Attitude’s) stand-alone curriculum enrichment programming you are familiar with will be available in several formats starting Spring 2021. Educators teaching in-person, virtually, or homeschooling can request a Denton County SWAt volunteer to present or demo one of our virtual lessons on plant growth and development, ecology and environmental science, and discovering wildlife. Educators can also request one of our “kits” for use in the classroom.
Our virtual presentations run approximately 30 to 45 minutes and are held via your preferred video conferencing program. These program options range from a Virtual Hike through Clear Creek Outdoor Education Center, upcycling and planting seeds in Paper Pots, to the popular program on water population, Freddie the Fish. These presentations fit with K-6 curriculums.
The SWAt kits include the TEK’s driven lesson, directions for the corresponding activity, and all needed materials. This is all at no cost to you or your school! Simply indicate which kit you would like to reserve and the date you would like the kit dropped off at your school. Kits will need to be returned within 7 business days of checking it out. These lessons fit with K-6
curriculums. Please visit the SWAt YouTube channel for more information on the kits: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5x0CS8avo1gCIod5nIvPXw
