Spring Children’s Garden

Denton County Master Gardener Association invites children (and their parents) to learn about gardening through planting, maintaining, and harvesting vegetables and herbs.  Join us every Thursday morning (March 21–June 13) from 10 to 11 A.M. at Fairoaks, 1950 Lattimore St., Denton (map).  There’s no need to register, and attendance is free.  Come every week or come when you can.

DCMGA Plant Sale

The 2019 DCMGA Plant Sale will be held on Saturday, May 4, 9 A.M.-2 P.M. (or until sellout) at Trinity United Methodist Church, located at 633 Hobson Lane, Denton (map).  The sale features a great selection of Texas native plants, plants for pollinators, tough-as-nails perennials, no-fuss roses, Texas Superstars®, hard to find herbs, and the always popular pass-along plants from Master Gardeners’ own gardens.  Master Gardeners will be available to help with selects and answer your gardening questions.  Shop early for the best selection.  For the latest information, see the 2019 DCMGA Plant Sale page.

DCMGA Garden Tour

Mark your calendar now for the 2019 DCMGA Garden Tour on Saturday, May 11, 9 A.M – 4:00 P.M.  This year’s tour features 5 beautiful gardens owned by Master Gardeners.   See the Garden Tour page for details, pictures, maps and online ticket sales.

Denton County Community Grove Training and Workdays

Everyone is invited to join the Denton County Master Gardeners for Fruit Grower Workshops at the Denton County Community Grove at 1029 W. Rosemeade Pkwy, Carrollton (map).  The final workshop is scheduled for June 4.  (Please note that the date was changed from May 21 to June 4.)  We will meet in the Community Room inside the Government Building at 9 A.M. for 1 hour of training.  We will then work in The Grove from 10 until about noon.  Bring work gloves, water, and hand tools, if you have them, including spades, hoes, rakes, trowels, pruning shears, lopping shears, and pruning saws.  We hope to see you there!

April 25, 6:00 ― 8:00 p.m.; Hummingbird Gardening – Join KLB and Denton County Master Gardeners Barbara Beane and Beverly Duncan to discover ways to attract and provide urban habitat for hummingbirds. Texas is fortunate to be in the migratory path of more than a dozen hummingbird species that arrive in our area from mid-March through early May. MCL Grand 100 N. DCMGA “Herbal Branch” Special Interest Meetings

Join the Master Gardeners one Monday each month, 10:00 – 11:00 A.M., at meetings of the Herbal Branch Special Interest Group.  Everyone is welcome and admission is free.   Each meeting will feature a presentation related to herbs.

The meetings are held at the Denton County offices of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension at 401 W. Hickory Street, Suite 115, Denton TX 76201-9026, unless otherwise specified.

DCMGA General Membership Meetings

Everyone is invited to join the Master Gardeners, the second Wednesday of the month (except January, February, August, and December), 9:30 – 11:00 A.M. (unless otherwise noted), at their general membership meetings.

Meetings feature speakers on a variety of topics.  The meetings are held at the Denton County offices of the Texas A&M AgriLife Extension at 401 W. Hickory Street, Suite 112, Denton TX 76201-9026, unless otherwise noted.

The following programs are scheduled:
